Harlan Coben is from Jewish family background who was born in Newark, New Jersey and later moved to Livingston. He graduated from Livingston High School. Upon his graduation in 1984, Coben started his career in the travel industry, working within a business owned by his grandfather. That’s where he pens down his debut, the romantically suspenseful thriller i.e., Play Dead which would see the light of publication when he was a mere 26 years old, in 1990.
In 2001, Coben wrote Tell No One a standalone thriller, marking a departure from the Myron Bolitar series.
